In light of the recent bombings at the Boston Marathon, here's a tool I was reminded of recently that I find highly effective. It's one I apply with myself and with personal interactions with others...I wonder what would happen if this was applied on a global scale. Wanna try it?
The tool is this: Whatever energies, walls, limitations, or judgments you run into whether it be within you or someone else... you just BE with the energy of it, without judgment, without the need to change it or fix it. Just be present with it, without making it significant. Acknowledge it and have total allowance for it. What I've noticed in practicing this is that it is often the quickest, easiest way to create change and have an energy dissipate. When it dissipates whether it's within me or someone I was having an interaction with... new possibilities present themselves, doors open, and people become softer, more peaceful, joyful beings before my very eyes. Being present without any judgment allows for the barriers and defenses to drop, and all of the reasons and justifications for why this thing was chosen in the first place can surface and dissipate too. What if we did this with the energies of fear, anger, rage, fury, hate, frustration?..... If every time you were aware of one of these energies (on a personal or global scale) and you just were totally present and in total allowance of it, what could change? Common protocol for dealing with an injustice is to take up arms, in one way or another, and fight, even if it's just an energy you become when you are aware of something that you don't like. How well does that protocol work? Does it create more fighting or less? Is there more peace on the planet right now or less? It's as if judgment was a requirement to creating change? Is it really?... Or is change something you can just choose without having to make something else wrong? I am in no way saying become a doormat, and let people walk all over you. I'm not saying that people shouldn't be arrested and taken to jail for their crimes. I'm simply suggesting that perhaps the way to handle anger, rage, fury, and hate is not with more anger, rage, fury, and hate. Have you ever heard the saying "what you resist persists"? When you "resist and react" to something.... you create more of it. Why? When you "resist and react" to an energy someone else has chosen, they cannot let their barriers down they have to keep defending and trying to prove that they've got it right. Like playing tug of war... When you are willing to let go of the rope they must, of necessity, stop pulling. When you put your barriers down they have nothing to push against. (Do this with energy within yourself and you create your own personal war within. How many defense systems do you have locking you into proving that you've got something right, while proving you've got it wrong?) I wonder what energies can be changed and transmuted simply by having the willingness to be aware of them and a willingness to take a different action in dealing with them. Be the energy you desire to see in the world. What else is possible?
